FAQ: Configuring Email Software to send/receive mail13 Nov

How can I send/receive my emails?
You can send/receive your emails from desktop applications such as Outlook Express. You can also access your mail using any of our available WebMail clients (Horde, SqWebMail, SquirrelMail) by visiting a url similar to http://mail.mydomain.com but with your domain name

The email address you wish to check should already be present within your hosting account Cpanel in the ‘Mail’ > ‘Add/Remove/Manage Accounts’ sections before following these instructions.

In Outlook Express:

1. Open the ‘Tools’ menu
2. Go to ‘Accounts’ -> ‘Mail’ tab
3. Click add.

In Outlook XP or 2003:

1. Open the ‘Tools’ menu
2. Select ‘Email Accounts’ -> ‘Add a new account’

Account type: POP
Display name: anything you like eg: John Smith
Email address: eg: info@’mydomain.com’
Note: replace “mydomain.com” with the name of your domain name.

My incoming mail server is a ‘POP3′ server.

Incoming Mail (POP3) : mail.’mydomain.com’
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) : Your Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) outgoing server
Account name/Username: Full email address. e.g. info@mydomain.com
Password: as set by you through H-Sphere

Make sure you test your account for the correct settings, Outlook will prompt a message whether it fails or is correct. Once Outlook has checked the settings, click Close to return to the wizard, then Next to continue, the exit the wizard.
